The costume for my actor is going to be simple. It is composed of skinny jeans, a shirt, canvas shoes, and the possibility of a jumper/jacket, or combining the two. The clothes shown are likely to be the ones used in the video, or similar. The relatively plain look of the costume will give the impression to the viewer that the character is a sort of 'everyman', and help them connect to the character better. The choice of the bright short was intentional, as the colouring links to the psychedelic genre, in which bright colours were also prominent. The shirt's colours boosts the rest of the outfit, which is of a darker palette, and will make the character stand out. The shirt will also boost the atmosphere of the video in darker scenes, if there is a lack of light present on the day of shooting. Wearing just the jumper will also imply that the video is set in summer, rather than winter when we'll be shooting, as will the canvas shoes. I expect my female deuteragonist will wear a similar costume (i.e., jacket, jeans, skate shoes), again to relate to the audience. This will also make the audience corroborate the two character's relationship better, as they are both dressed in a similar fashion.
